How I Work

My approach to therapy is rooted in understanding how we make sense of our emotions, relationships, and experiences. As a psychodynamic therapist, I draw from relational, attachment-oriented, and emotionally focused approaches to tailor the process to your unique needs. This means recognizing underlying patterns, making sense of emotional experiences, and understanding how past and present relationships influence your life.

I want my prospective clients to know that my intention is to meet you where you are. This means I will not pressure you to talk about the things you’re not ready to share. My goal is for you to feel comfortable and in control, knowing that we’ll always move forward in a way that feels right for you.

One of the key frameworks I use emphasizes the importance of our early relationships and how they impact the way we relate to ourselves and others. This relational approach explores how past experiences, particularly in close relationships, can influence present-day behaviors and emotions.

I also encourage clients to tune into the sensations in their bodies and their nervous system as a way to connect with their emotions. By noticing and exploring these bodily experiences, clients can uncover underlying, often unconscious, emotional patterns and develop a greater capacity for regulation, allowing the nervous system to shift from a state of distress to calm and balance. This process allows clients to gain insight into how old experiences may be influencing their current emotional reactions and behaviors, creating space for healing and more adaptive responses in the present.
